Red Cap Cards

I've made 12 new greeting cards for the fantastic Red Cap Cards, and they're finally here!  The cards have made their debut at the National Stationary Show and are now available on Red Cap's website.  I'll have a stock in my Etsy shop sometime soon, but for now you can read more and can get them here on Red Cap's website.

Greeting Cards: sneak peek

I'm excited to say that I have a whole bunch of greeting cards coming out this month with the help of Little Otsu and Red Cap Cards! Here's a little preview of what's to come...

New York Times- Mother's Day

Here's a new illustration that appeared in the Sunday Review section of the New York Times on Mother's Day.  I was asked to make up some book covers for this beautifully written article about a mother/son book club.

market finds

Yesterday was the first local antique market of the season and boy, was it a good one.

I found these old watercolors for $8.00 and snatched them up.  Aren't they beautiful?  Fingers crossed that they'll be high quality and useful (doubtful). But if not, they're still a treasure. I might do a little painting this week and test them out.

I also brought home this wooden set of flat file drawers to hold supplies and paper.  I have one already, but I couldn't pass up another, especially since the other one is full to the brim with prints and original paintings.

new promo

I finally ordered some new promo and business cards.  Sorry to anyone who placed an Etsy order in the past couple of months who didn't receive one! (I like to send a little something extra with every order.)

wedding invitations

The time has come for me to share a very special project that is finally complete-my very own wedding invitations!  Of all the stressing, planning, and designing, this is the one thing I knew had to be really special. I had some help assembling- thanks to my fiance, future-mother-in-law & very good friend Mel, I didn't have to lick all those stamps on my own!

The New York Times

I am so completely thrilled to have an illustration in the Op- Ed section of the New York Times today ! I did 9 ink-wash flowers for an article about Henry David Thoreau's research on blooms, and how they've been affected by climate change.  The article and image can be found on page A27 in the printed edition, and here in the online edition.

American Greetings

Here are few things I did that were made into an animated Mother's Day e-card for American Greetings.
I cant show the animation here, but it should be available on the AG site closer to Mother's Day. Happy Spring!

lately

I've been so busy with commissions around here I can hardly see straight (which is a good thing).  I can't share on those yet, so until then, here's a few things from this week.

1. My copy of the The Saturday Evening Post   2. New print available in my Etsy shop 3. A sneak peek of my wedding invitations (I'll post more on those once I get them printed)

The Saturday Evening Post

I'm so excited to share this recent illustration!  The Saturday Evening post asked me to do the cover of the March/April issue back in January and I couldn't have been more thrilled.  It's an honor to take part in such a historic magazine.  Nothing like Rockwell, but fun nonetheless!

"The grand legacy of The Saturday Evening Post has endured for nearly 300 years in part due to the creativity and innovation of its founders, publishers, editors and cover artists. The rich history of the Post has been thoughtfully reaching its readers since a time before America yet existed."-from saturdayeveningpost.com.  You can read more about the magazine and it's history here.

Zermatt

A recent commission appearing in the upcoming issue of  Die Weltwoche Stil based in Switzerland.
I did a similar scene for them last year, and I was very excited when they asked me to do another.  The illustration shows the alpine village, Zermatt, and the famous Matterhorn mountain.  It was such a pleasure to do this, because I think cottages and trees are some of my favorite things to paint!

There has been a serious lack of posts here lately, but hopefully that will change soon.  I've been so busy with work and wedding planning that I hardly have time to breathe!

A new illustration that will be appearing in the upcoming print issue of Domestic Etch Magazine.
